Hello there,
I’ve just bought a Hyundai iX35 1.7 CRDI Premium Blue Drive. I realise it has a timing chain thankfully but it’s done 76,500 miles.

When should I consider changing the timing chain, if at all as the servicing has been done at the required intervals?

Thanking you.

Kind regards.

THE TIMING CHAIN IS NOT A SERVICE ITEM, ONLY NEEDS TO BE CHANGED IF IT STARTS TO RATTLE. AS LONG AS IT SOUNDS NORMAL ALL IS FINE. THEY SHOULD LAST THE LIFE OF THE ENGINE AS LONG AS THE CORRECT SERVICING EVERY YEAR IS PERFORMED.
